We dont like rules at The Proud Garden. There are just a few basics here and nothing unusual. When you arrive your time is your own and you are free to use all the facilities at The Proud Garden as and when you wish. Our home is your home and all that we ask is that you respect the right of our other guests to also enjoy their stay.
Bookings
Bookings can be made online with a valid credit or debit card. Please contact us by phone or email to book and pay by bank transfer. At the time of booking we require a non refundable deposit of 30%. The balance is payable one month prior to arrival. We are unfortunately unable to refund any monies paid within one month of arrival. But we will endeavor to do so should we be able to re-sell the room. We recommend taking out a good travel insurance policy to guard against loss due to cancellation for unforeseen circumstances.
Minimum Stay
Our minimum stay is 3 nights from July – September and 2 nights at any other time. You can arrive on any day of the week. Of course there’s so much to see and do in the area that we recommend staying for longer. At certain times we are able to be flexible with the minimum stay requirement so please contact us by phone or email if you don’t see the availability you require.
Prices & Currency
Rates shown are per suite per week and include breakfast and taxes. Rates are quoted in Euros (€) and when booking online you will be charged in this currency. We can provide snacks, lunch, dinner and drinks at an additional cost and these can be paid for when you check out.
Check In & Check Out
You can check in any time from 1500 on your day of arrival. Our standard check out time is 1100. We will of course try to be flexible with these times dependent on your travel arrangements. If for some reason we can’t accommodate a late check out or early check in then you are very welcome to make use of the facilities while you wait.
Cancellations
Your booking is confirmed when we have received your deposit and sent you a confirmation email. If for some reason you do need to cancel please do so at the earliest possible opportunity by email to info@theproudgarden.com
Guests
Each suite contains a double bed and will accommodate a maximum of 2 people. We can add a camp bed to the lounge area for a third person but please note there is no door between the lounge and the bedroom.
Children
Whilst we love children we have no specific facilities for them here and due to the nature of the building (the pool is not walled in and there is easy access to the roof) we are unfortunately unable to accept bookings for children under the age of 12.
Events
The Proud Garden makes a wonderful venue for a small event. Whether this be a wedding reception, an anniversary or just a large family gathering. The property sleeps 10 people comfortably and we can arrange cleaning and catering as required. In addition to this there is a villa on the neighboring property that can accommodate a further 8 people. Please contact us if you are interested in hiring the entire property.
Parking
We provide complimentary on-site parking. It is secure but cars and their contents are parked entirely at the car owners risk.
Smoking
The rooms and indoor public areas at The Proud Garden are non-smoking. You are welcome to smoke on the terrace of your suite, on the roof terrace and around the grounds. We do ask that you respect the other guests and not smoke whilst others are eating. There are ample public areas around the house so this should not be a problem. A final word on smoking, especially in the height of summer the land in Puglia is tinder dry. Forest fires are a constant danger and can be very damaging to the livelihood of local farmers. Please dispose of any cigarettes carefully and responsibly.
Loss or Damage
We dont charge a deposit for damages. Whilst we do understand that accidents can happen we do reserve the right to charge the full amount for reinstatement of items found to be broken or missing.
Location
The local town and coast are only 3 miles away but we are located in a remote rural area. We strongly recommend hiring a car on arrival to make the most of your stay in the area. This is a lovely area for walking and cycling and our local lanes are very quiet, but there are no street lights in the countryside (which makes the stargazing fantastic). We do also have insects and other creatures (lizards, snakes and field mice) that live around the house, not in it. However nothing here is dangerous, the lizards are inquisitive and if you are lucky enough to see a grass snake sunning itself it will run a mile before you can get anywhere near it. Mosquitoes are rarely a problem due to the sea breezes and we provide burners to deter them during the night. But if you are susceptible to mozzie bites we recommend bringing some repellent.
Termination Policy
We reserve the right, at our discretion, to terminate without notice an individuals stay at The Proud Garden where deemed necessary.
